JKG Disability Karate – scouts visit, March 2017

Saturday 11th March saw the biggest disability karate class so far at #JKGKarate as we had a visit from 5th Westcliff scout group who joined in the class to have a go at karate and for our members to show them what they have learnt.

With 17 in the class, 10 of whom were JKG karateka, we covered basic punching and kicking techniques with our members demonstrating excellently to the visiting scouts, followed some friendly competition with three teams working a line drill on the pads and making it into a race.

The feedback was great and the JKG disability karate members represented the club perfectly and showed just how much progress they have made, not only in technique and physical fitness but in self-confidence as well.

Thanks to Helen Marsh, Paul Fanner, Amy Marsh and Charlotte Wilcock for assisting in the class.
