Representing the Byakko Shotokan Karate Association (BSKA) at the FEKO national Championships and UWK England ranking event in Sheffield were John Gardiner, Helen Marsh and Amy Marsh who teamed up with Sensei Ady Gray’s squad.
Amy was unlucky in her Kata event (Girls 13-15 years) missing out on a bronze medal by a 0.1 margin, a great result for her nonetheless being so close to the top three in a national championship.
Helen Marsh competing in the female Veterans kata and female senior kata events won a well deserved bronze medal (to add to her previous weeks trophy haul in Clacton) in the senior event and like Amy just missed out on the bronze coming 4th in the Veterans.
John Gardiner competing in both the men’s open style kata and men’s Shotokan kata events dominated both events with an unattainable lead taking both the gold medals, and the FEKO National titles.
A successful day for the #JKGKarate squad yet again, taking 2 gold medals, 1 bronze and 2 4th places in a national event, adding to the total medal tally for BSKA of 11.
