At JKG Karate we pride ourselves in upholding high standards, a fair, progressive and challenging grading system and doing so in a professional manner.
Established in 2011 JKG Karate has seen its members achieve success in the competition circuit both domestically and internationally, students who have progressed to achieve their black belt and most importantly has seen the development of our members both physically and mentally.
Sensei John Gardiner, chief instructor and founder of JKG Karate, has had a very successful competitive career having competed for the England National team from the under 21 team through to being Senior England number 1 at the WKF World and European Championships in addition to being English and British Champion.

Southend Disability Karate
Our chief instructor, Sensei John Gardiner, has worked closely with a number of Special Educational Needs schools in the Southend area, bringing Karate lessons into the school timetable for well over 100 children and teenagers with special educational needs and disabilities.
For his work, John was awarded Active Essex's Southend Sport coach of the year runner up in 2015.
Outside of schools JKG Karate runs an SEN and Disability Karate class in Westcliff-on-sea, with a tailored teaching method and grading syllabus allowing for continued progression and achievement.
